Canvas 6- Diesire mixed media die set- ‘Ribbon buckles’. Ok, this is where things start to get a little bit crazy! This is my take on what you can do with buckle dies as the main feature of a mixed media canvas! The idea is that you can thread ribbon or cord through them. A handy accessory for any project.

On this canvas I have used the dies to cut mount board.

The texture on the canvas was achieved in a similar way to my other canvases.-die cutting, texture paste stencilling (Sheena’s stencils), stamping (flowers and script)and doodling (black, white and gold pebeo pens) . I also added buttons. The surface was then painted with gesso.

The difference in this canvas in terms of the colouring is that I experimented with olive brusho powder for the base and I allowed it to drip to create the flower stems. I used distress inks on top. Red paint  highlighted the paste stencilled flowers and flowers that were stamped.

Some of the buckles I used for flowers and threaded with ribbon and the others I coloured and stamped for the sentiment and threaded with baker’s twine.
