Everyone likes to give Christmas treats, maybe something homemade like sweets or jewellery. Why not impress by making your own professional gift box foiled to perfection! So here’s how:

Step one:-

From the Decadence card pack cut two squares measuring 11 ¾’ x 11 ¾’ and using the big score board make up a basic box with a depth of 1 ½’. Use tacky glue to stick the corners. The finished box should measure 8 ¾’ x 8 ¾’.

Step two:-

Taking the box lid, cut enough ribbon to run from the inside of the lid across the top of the box in both directions. Stick the ends of the ribbon using red liner tape.

Step 3:-

From the Elegance card pack die cut the tag. Following the foil transfer instructions on the packaging, foil the Christmas tree on to the tag using the ‘snow flake’ foil. Repeat the same foiling with the tree sentiment design and cut free-hand in a triangular tree shape. Edge both tags in gold using the Pebeo marker.

Step 4:-

Using the same card cut a square 7’ x7’ and in the centre foil the large repeat sentiment using matt gold foil. Trim back and mount on to metallic gold centura pearl card.

Step 5:-

Add some foam tape to the back and a little tacky glue (for manoeuvrability) and stick to the middle of the box lid on top of the ribbon. Tie a matching bow and assemble the other elements to the top left hand corner using collall gel.

Tip

Use a foam stamping mat under your project when using the transfers and foil. This helps achieve a better result. Also tonal card was used from the Elegance pack in this project for the foiled elements because it has a smoother surface. The foil adheres to this surface more easily.

Crafty hugs,
