  • Die shape of your choice- Oval or bauble shape.
  • Red organza ribbon and red raffia
  • Red bells and gold glitter star

This card brings the taste of the East to this traditional Christmas scene with its hot colours, patterns and gold tones. It’s a little experiment combining the red rich foil with alcohol inks… just for a change, why not!

So here’s how:

Step 1:-

Cut and score a DL card from centura pearl in gold.

Step 2:-

Using the glossy card and alcohol inks, drip the colour randomly in a wide enough area to be captured by the size of your chosen die.  In the centre of a red area carefully drip the alcohol solution to create a paler circle shape. When dry place a drop of yellow in this area. Hopefully you will have a sunset shape!

Step 3:-

With the 3 wise-men scene design, foil across the sun using red foil. Do the same for the sentiment and add a few shepherds and animals where you wish. Then die cut around the scene with your shape of choice and edge with distress ink and gold marker. Prepare the ribbon and embellishments.

Step 4:-

Using the matt gold foil place the 6×6 background from the set on to red mirror card and foil. Cut to size and stick to the middle of the DL card using Tacky glue. ‘Top and tail’ this background using a couple of the strip patterns in red foil.

Step 5:-

Add the artwork die cut on top raising this up with either foam tape or Collall gel. Stick the ribbon and embellishments above the sentiment to create a bauble effect. You may also wish to line the inside of the card with complimentary paper and foil an additional sentiment.

Tip

If your alcohol inks do not behave as you would wish you can touch up areas using your alcohol markers. You can also add shadows to the scene using these.

Crafty hugs,
