July and August are strange- Christmas and summer mixed together ! Today is back to summer with another nod to the sea. This mixed media canvas uses products from Indigoblu, Imagination crafts, Creative Expressions and some lovely craft stash from my Craft box treasures.

In terms of technique today I decided to use patterned papers stencilled with sand Pebeo texture paste and paint. Colour was added using distress oxide inks. Thick white gesso bleached the tones. Sand balls in two sizes on top of ‘slap it on’ paste added extra textures. I used two canvases (8′ X 8′ and 12′ x12′) and a frame from prima marketing for extra dimension. The postcard image is from Indigoblu.

I chose some patterned paper and a scrap of kitchen paper which had been used to mop up left over brusho powders.

Alcohol markers added some shading to the stencilled lighthouse.
