Cacti Crazy

Just doing a blog catch up on a few recent projects. Today’s card is one of three where I used the same colour palette of 3 distress oxides to make random backgrounds.

This was my lovely son Ben’s birthday card. Ben grows cacti. He is running out of space he is so good at it !

The ink colours were Salty ocean, Peacock features and Picked Raspberry. The stamps are from Woodware and the die cut sentiment is Sizzix- Tim Holtz.

This first card uses the strongest background created picking up the inks from the craft mat on a first print. I used the technique where ink is randomly applied to the  mat and sprayed with water. Water colour card is rested on top. The print made and then sprinkled again with water after dry and blotted off.

I stamped on to part of the background and cut the images out. I highlighted parts of them with a little ink on a paint brush.

The images where raised on foam pads and matted and layered on white card and left over background. The sentiment was die cut on black card and little paper clips added for extra interest.
