Hello just a quick post today to share the Mother’s day card I made for my lovely Mum. She hasn’t physically got it yet as she’s wey too busy having a lovely time in Lisbon Portugal! Also I must confess I’m disorganised. So Mum and everyone else here’s a more detailed look!
This is what I used along with some watercolour card.
The butterfly stamp was free with a magazine and just a tad smaller than Sheena’s design . I love using the Spectrum Noir sparkle pens for creating inky backgrounds.
I spray the card with water and using a paintbrush dab ink on top. I squeeze the ink from the pens to my craft mat. When the card is wet I don’t use the pens directly on top. Occasionally I use them for flicking and here I stamped the foliage by placing ink directly onto the stamp from the pens. If you spritz the stamp before stamping it creates a lovely water colour effect.
To give the scene depth the background should be lightest in the centre and the stamping darkest at the front. Softer images look further away.
The butterflies were stamped onto scrap coloured card and cut out .
Well I hope you had a beautiful day Mum and all the other Mums too!
