Hello

Hi there, today I’m sharing the first of my Royal Talens oil pastel samples. I hope you have had a chance to view Louise’s shows on Hochanda TV for some very tempting products and lots of inspiration!

Todays canvas mixes a little background acrylic paint with the pastels. The piece began as a ‘mop up’page for a couple of stencils I was using for another project. It made some interesting patterns which I enhanced adding oil pastel some flower doodling and a little stamping. There may be some ink splats in there too!

To create the butterfly, using a stamping platform I stamped the indigoblu  Image once. I coloured this using the pastels and then stamped again over the top in exactly the same place. I then cut it out. The sentiment is from sizzix.

The doodles were highlighted using white acrylic ink from Amsterdam applied with a fine line applicator. The doodling was created using my black ‘all’ Stabilo pencil . The harlequin stamp is from creative expressions and the script stamp is from visible image.

I love to mix pastel in with my paints it adds a whole new dimension and can be applied lightly or more thickly for a deep colour look.
