To create the project I made a background using distress oxides ( the picking up watered ink from a craft mat technique)

I tore copy paper to ink mountains in the background and a few hills in the foreground using darker coloured distress oxide. I sponged in some clouds and I stamped in the birds.

To create a face I stamped the eye twice using versafine black ink on to rice paper. Once I had sprayed the oxides with fixative, using matt medium I adhered the eyes into position flipping one image. They were later highlighted with white pen and Sakura gel pens. Glitter was added to the lashes.

For the foreground I stamped the feather and the Indian flourish in different colours of versafine Clair ink. The same with the fern stamp. I then stamped the flourish again a few times and embossed with gold sparkle  wow powder.

The eyes were coloured using Stabilo pastel pencils. I also added pear shapes gems to achieve that Indian feel.

The eye stamp has incredible detail and was a pleasure to use. Also, it was great to create a picture in pinks…. my favourite !!!

I hope you join the challenge . Have fun and I’ll have more pink inspiration tomorrow!

  1. Love the eye stamp Lisa, I got mine last week at Hochanda in Kent and I hoped I’d be able to flip it, so thanks for inspiration.

    1. Great! The key to using rice paper is to make sure the inks below are stabilized if they are water based using spray fixitive. Also when stamping on to the rice paper use dye based ink like versa fine. Adhere rice paper with Matt medium . Have fun Siobhan! X

    1. Thank you. I stamped on to rice paper . Adhered the reverse image using gel medium. The rice paper becomes translucent when the medium is applied.

  2. Hi really like this could u tell
Me what distress inks were used to make the background and where did u get the pear drop
    Gems from please
An tutorial on utube for this would be fantastic

    1. Hi Neena, I made this quite a while ago but from memory I think I used: spiced marmalade; picked raspberry; wilted violet; squeezed lemonade. The pearl drop embellishments were actually dissected from a flower ( they are a snipped petal ) They were a Dawn bibby purchase. Sorry so vague. glad you liked the project. Thank you. X
