Hello! Well goodness me summer has arrived! What better stamp to use on this glorious day than our firm favourite the hummingbird from Visible Image!
Today’s project is an mdf tag. I’ve used Amsterdam acrylic basics paints; pens in black and white and a little Amsterdam black acrylic ink. The image and sentiment were stamped using black versa fine ink.
Here are the products used:

part of the sentiment:

I began the project by painting the tag with white gesso and creating a background using the number stencil and a range of acrylic colours sponged through the stencil.
I blanked out a space in the middle in white using the collision stencil. Then using a stamping platform I stamped the bird on top of this area. I painted the whole area of the image in white just leaving the outline and then coloured areas on top using acrylic paint. When the paint was dry I used the platform to stamp back the detail on top of the colour. I then highlighted parts using a white gel pen.
I used the circle accent stamps from the set lining them up with the lines of the collision stencil.
Around the edges I continued to stencil using both the mesh and number stencils and a range of acrylic colours including white.
I masked the bird and added black splatters Down one side of the tag.
Finally I stamped and cut out the sentiments and doodled around the edges to mirror the shape of the top of the tag.
Hope you have a lovely day!
