Hope you enjoyed the pinks!
The new theme for this month is ‘Childhood dreams’ basically anything lovely! Talking of which for my first sample I’m using the lovely Indra butterfly stamp. It’s huge!

Today we have a 8’x8’ canvas. I was experimenting with acrylic paint- mainly Deco art media fluid acrylics, having a go at an acrylic swipe. This is where the paint is mixed with a pouring medium and a drop of silicon . Colours are Randomly added to the primed canvas with white at the top and the edges. Then using a damp piece of kitchen towel lay it on top of the white layer and swipe through the rest. This causes cells and patterns to form. It’s really cool. The example I’ve used today had some great colours at the bottom but it looked a little odd at the top. I thought that I could enhance it and add the butterflies to disguise the line. Here is what it looked like at first.- not great to be honest!
So, I stamped and heat embossed the foliage in white. Using spectrum noir alcohol markers I coloured them lightly to create dimension. I also enhanced part of the background and the edges of the canvas using water soluble wax crayons ( artist loft)
Two butterflies were stamped and heat embossed in black and coloured with Aqua markers. They were then cut out leaving a small border around the edge. They were then adhered to the canvas using gel medium.
I added dots and highlights with a white gel pen.
The type of colourful meadow that could only exist in a childhood dream.
I hope you join the challenge. You could win £40 of magical Lavinia stamps vouchers!
