Sebastian

It’s that time of the month again at Lavinia stamps- Challenge time! The new theme is a tempting stamping with blues. Today I have a little underwater scene with the dilectible Sebastian the seahorse!

Here are the stamps for the project with the links below:

To create the background I used a combination of distress oxide inks in blues, greens and yellows blended together. I then stencilled over the top using an IndigoBlu bubble stencil and white acrylic paint. I tried to keep the centre of the piece fairly light. I also stencilled bubbles using the blue and green distress oxide ink.

Sebastian was stamped in onyx black then masked. His little friend was then stamped in the background using second generation ink to look paler and more faded.

I then used the 2 feather and fern head stamps as foilage. They were stamped using Versa Clair ink in blues and purples with a final layer of black to create foreground interest.

Finally the bubbles were stamped and highlighted with black and white gel pen. I also added a tiny touch of colour using alcohol markers and of course glitter. Sebastian was also glittered to finish off the piece.

I do love using blues and they team up nicely with greens and yellow for underwater scenes.
