Fairy town

Yes it’s a little taste of fairy Christmas . Mind you it looks as though the fairies are all sleeping or partying elsewhere!

Today’s post features one of my design team samples for the 4 o’clock show on Hochanda tv.

I began with an A4 piece of Sheena card; some aquatint and sparkle pens and pebeo drawing gum. I splattered the gum using a fan brush over the page. When dry I sprayed with water and spread some ink using the pens. When the ink was dry the gum was then rubbed away to reveal the snow.

I  heat embossed the houses using purple embossing powder and coloured the images using the pens.

I heat embossed the fir trees using using pale blue sparkle wow powder and stamped the tall trees in blue ink.

I added some highlights and shadows using my Stabilo pastel pencils.

The houses were adhered. Some flat and the front ones raised on foam pads. Some white highlights were added to the foreground and the edges darkened using water soluble crayons.

Finally the artwork was mounted and glitter and white gel pen detail added.

Unfortunately the glitter looks grey rather than sparkly in the photo… oh well !!

Hope you catch the show. Plenty of wonderful inspiration from the team and great demonstrations from Amanda !
