The climb

I’m back with another sample using the fabulous new release stamps from Lavinia stamps . What beauties they are!

Today I’m featuring the tenacious Rue climbing amongst the Spanish mosses. I show too how to turn the twisted willow stamps into a frame.

The list of newly launched products including the ones I’m using today can be found here:

Starting with the frame, I stamped and heat embossed in black. When stamping the arch I removed the narrow ends so that they would more easily link with the longer twisted willow stamp. When the frame was joined I disguised the joins by using black and white markers to carry on the flow of the willow.

The background :

I used pebeo dyna (irredescent) and ordinary acrylic paints  and a natural sponge to add colour to a white page. I added the darker colours around the edges and created a light patch in the centre by sponging yellow and white paint. I added light purple around the bottom to create the impression of meadow flowers and to further enhance this I added splatters of watered down acrylic paint in gold, magenta, white and yellow. I basically flicked the splatters up the page.

I lightly stamped the small moss along the bottom using black and teal blue Versa Claire ink.

Like in yesterday’s post I added the main stamped features (Rue and large Spanish moss) by heat embossing in black on to rice paper. These were cut out and adhered to the background using matt medium. Make sure the paint is dry first.

I also stamped both mosses in green around the top directly on the page.

The frame was adhered using collall dimensional gel and the background was enhanced by doodling with a white pen and by adding dots of stickles glitter.
