Moonlight stroll

It’s monthly challenge time again at Lavinia stamps with a ‘all I want for Christmas…’ theme. You can find the challenge details including the prize details and inspiration from the team Here

For a little inspiration from me I’ve created a winter scene using the following stamps:

Fir treeChristmas tree group and Badger- 2

The steps:

I used pebeo masking fluid. I covered part of the hills, the badger, moon and flicked some over the page to create snow later.

For the next stage I mainly used 2nd generation stamping ( stamped first on to copy paper so ink would be paler)

For the sky I used a combination of blue watercolour paint and purple aquatint inks. The dye based Versa Clair ink doesn’t budge with watercolour on top.

After more stamping I rubbed away some of the masking fluid to create room for the treetops.

Torn copy paper and post it notes were used as masks.

The snow masking fluid was rubbed away.

Gel pens were used for highlighting some lost detail and for adding moonlight to the stream. Some extra snow was added using white acrylic ink.

The edges were darkened and the artwork mounted on to complimentary card stock.

I was undecided whether to add a little fairy flying in the air. Maybe I will at some stage!

See here for more Christmas stamping ideas… it’s not too late !!

Till next time..

Lisa xx
