A Highland tale

Hi, I’m back with a reminder of our Lavinia stamps ‘a story to be told’ January 2019 Challenge.

Today’s inspiration has a bit of a Scottish feel.

I’ve used brushos, Pixie powders, inks, gel pen, embossing powders, and my Stabilo pastel pencils.

I also used a castle mask from Clarity stamps who also sell the masking sheets which you can customise to make your own masks.

I have used the following stamps:

Small reindeer

Thistles

Nigela damascena

Stars-1

Star cluster

The steps:

Create background using watered down brusho and pixie powders.

Layer colours by picking up from craft mat onto white card( I’ve used Sheena stamping card but you could also use Multifarious card) dry in between layers. Then use the castle mask and white ink.

Repeat using your own hill mask ( you can also use torn copy paper) use white ink above the mask and coloured ink below.

Stamp and heat emboss the reindeer using black powder.

Heat emboss the stars in gold sparkle.

Enhance the background using pastel pencils adding shadow under the reindeer and stamp nigela foliage in pale blue.

Stamp the thistles in black and add more colour highlights to the castle using pencils and to the reindeer using gold glitter gel pen.

Finally add some diamond stickles.. off course! and frame with complimentary colours.

I hope you join us and create your own story. There are some amazing entries so far and you could win £40 of vouchers to purchase your own Lavinia stamps!

Till next time..

Lisa xx
