A touch

Today I’m using the fabulous stamps and stencils from Visible Image.

It’s a composition on white Sheena stamping card using acrylic paint and a brayer along with stamps and a stencil. The idea was to create texture that would give the appearance of an old fresco- painting on plaster Da Vinci style!

I used the following Visible Image products:

You are not alone

Elemental

Meshallaneous

Set the tone

Stop meshing around

Here are the steps:

Using a brayer, acrylic paints (Dark blue, rust, teal, yellow ochre ) using stencil and texture stamp (with white paint ) build up the layers then brayer on buff coloured acrylic paint between each layer keeping the centre light.

Stamp the hands separately and add the different layers to create the aged cracked look. (Dark base colour, weathered wood crackle medium, buff paint, sepia ink.) over stamp to add back the detail and then cut out and add rust colour acrylic paint .

Add further texture to the background- texture stamp work in dark colours and stamp the elemental and sentiment stamps using black ink. I also added black and copper splatters and of course stuck down the hands and added a little white highlighting with a gel pen.

So you can use your stamps with acrylic paint so long as they are cleaned quickly in warm water afterwards.

Very mixed media!

I hope you like the effect.

Till next time..
