The Oracle

There’s still time to join our Monthly challenge at Lavinia stamps. The theme is buds and blossoms and you could be in with a chance of winning £40 of LS vouchers!

For today’s inspiration I have mainly used some of our gorgeous new release stamps.

Here are the stamps used:

The oracle

Tree of faith

Star burst set

Bluebells

Stars 2

I decided for a change to use acrylic paint both in the form of dylusions tub paint and posca paint pens. I also of course used my Stabilo pastel pencils and some ink pads.

Here’s how it evolved:

I blended the paints with a little white.

I used gesso through a die cut mask to create a circle for the moon.

It’s important when adding detail to the moon to use the same colour tones as the sky. As I was using pastel pencil I also used spray fixative on top to seal it. I used a reference picture for the moon shading.

I wanted the tree to be mainly in the misty background so I stamped it very lightly using grey and brushed a little paint over it in places.

I used make up brushes to apply inks on top of the acrylic paint.

The close ups:

I added a garland of flowers to her hair to match the blossom theme.

I hope you get the chance to join us in the challenge. Good luck !

Till next time…

  1. Fantastic piece, love the colours. What colour Posca pens did you use please? Looking to buy some now I know how you created the effect, but wondering about which colours and size nib to buy. Thanks
