Dragon raid

Lavinia stamps have another very exciting set of New releases on 22 August 2019. These new designs will work fabulously with the last new set. Today I’ve mixed elements from both.

Along with the fabulous new dragons and bats I have also used:

Far world castle

Dragon stone castle

Spooky tree

Here are the steps:

I get this effect by mixing sprays with water on card then press a clean dry sheet of card on top and take a print. It’s a great way of dispersing the ink and getting amazing colour combinations.

Using a pencil I drew around my distress marker tub to create a circle for a large moon. I painted this with white gesso and then using an photograph of the moon I roughly sketched the moon pattern using Stabilo pastel pencils. I enhanced around the outside and the lighter areas with the gesso.

I began the stamping thinking of a good composition. I used lighter coloured ink for images that I wanted to push to the background and torn copy paper to create a landscape. This was later enhanced with distress oxide ink and make up brushes. I also added tiny hints of shadow using a black Stabilo pencil.

I added foreground foliage using part of the tree stamp and I darkened the edges using black ink. In order to reflect the colours in the sky I added dots and scribbles of colour to the foreground using paint pens. I highlighted the foreground castle and dragons using a gold stardust pen . For extra interest I created tiny orbs with a white gel pen, a yellow paint marker and white pastel pencil. I darkened the shadows and added diamond stickles here and there.

The close ups:

I hope you are excited for the new designs. I adore them!

Don’t forget Lavinia stamps will be on Hochanda TV on 22nd launching some of these gorgeous creations! ( you can watch this on the internet too ) So plenty more inspiration to come from me and the rest of the team!

Till next time…

Lisa xx
