Forest fruits

Yes it’s that time of the month again! Time for a Creative challenge at Lavinia stamps. Congratulations to last month’s winner . Up for grabs this month is £40 of LS vouchers. The new theme is ‘ If you go down to the woods’ … A wonderful theme !

For today’s inspiration I show that all you need is one branch to create a forest!

To create this picture I used the following stamps:

Barric

Tree branch

Lunar buds

Mini berry

Like in the previous posts I began by creating an ink spray print. This was done by spraying a selection of ink sprays on to white card ( some with mica) yellow, green, pink. Spray with water, then press a blank piece of dry card on top and pull apart. The ink will leave two prints which when dry I cut down and use as a background.

Depending on the direction of the light the colour changes because of the mica. This gives a green haze. The next stage is to stamp using black ink. I also used a black pen to link up the branches with some free hand drawing.

The next step was to mask out a hill in the foreground and paint in detail using distress oxide ink and make up brushes. When this was dry I dotted some colour on top using paint pens which is basically opaque acrylic ink.

I then stamped and coloured the berries and added some gold sparkle to the lunar buds and some purple glitter here and there.

The close ups:

Don’t forget to check out the fabulous samples from the rest of the team for more inspiration and of course our friendly Facebook group

Good luck in the challenge!
