Hello again my friends. I really hope that you are safe and well and finding ways to keep your spirits up! Today is my mid month reminder of the Lavinia stamps creative challenge. The theme is ‘Flora and fauna’. Lots of scope for creativity and to use some of your favourite Lavinia animal and foliage stamps! You could be the lucky winner of £40 of LS vouchers.

For todays inspiration I’ve included some of themagical New release stamps

The stamps used:

Forest temple

Tree of widom

Fairy bell set

Snail set

Red Squirrel

Crow set

Butterflies

Wildflower

Foxglove

The steps:

As usual I take inspiration from the ink and begin by spraying green, yellow and pink on to white mixed media card (A4).

Next I created two masks by stamping the images on to copy paper and cutting out.

I then stamped the squirrel in black and covered him with his mask. Next I stamped the forest temple on top and removed the squirrel mask.

Next placing down both masks I stamped the tree a couple of times to the top and sides of the temple using a paler coloured ink so that the trees would look like they were in the background. I didn’t worry that they weren’t perfect because I would be adding darker branches over the top later.

Next I stamped the snail and the crow. I also lightly added in a few darker branches by inking up only parts of the tree stamp.

I added some colour using my zig clean colour water based markers.

I stamped the foliage in yellow, pink and black to create the impression of distance. I also added the butterflies.

Next I enhanced the background colours and created some landscaping using distress oxide ink, torn copy paper and make up brushes. I added a mist effect by sweeping the pale yellow across the middle of the picture using the fine brush.

I added shadows using my stabilo pastel pencils and ‘flower’ highlights here and there using paint pens. Twinkly highlights were created using a gold zig stardust pen.

Finally the glitter after mounting.
