Today’s tutorial finds our whimsical hares frolicking in a meadow in the dappled light of dusk. I like to think that they are having a leaping competition! At least I’ve created a soft landing!

To create this scene I used the following stamps:

The steps:

To begin this project I had a little play with one of my larger gelli plates from Ranger. It’s a great shape for printing- a large DL size.Gel press assortment kit by ranger

This is a technique that you will have seen Tracey use. Light brayering of ink to start then sprinkle brusho powders which have been diluted with water. Place white card on top and you are left with an interesting print.

I trimmed the print down and created a hilly landscape at the bottom by using torn copy paper and distress oxide ink.

I enhanced this building up the colour using some more distress oxide inks and a small make-up brush.

I added a sun by lightly inking over a circle of acetate.

The hares were stamped in black ink.

I added a light layer of the poppies in pink around the edges.

Followed by some more in black.

Trees were stamped several times in blue and black masking off the bottom of the trunks using copy paper.

I added shadows under the hares using pastel pencils and a charcoal pencil.

I inked around the edges of the card in blue and later also added black. I coloured over some of the poppies and added dots of meadow flowers using paint pens. I highlighted the hares in yellow.

The artwork was mounted and glitter added for that final touch.
