Althea’s treasure

Oh my goodness ! Lavinia stamps have some absolutely fabulous New release stamps and stencils. They are spectacular and allow me to create underwater pictures…my favourite!!!

Here are the products used:

Althea

Fish set

Marine kelp

Urchins

Mini urchin

Mini fish

Shoal of fish

Flourish stencil

The steps in pictures:

Ink spray background.

Add pixie powders- like brushos only with mica.

Add drops of ink while still wet.

Stencil over the top and then flick with white ink or paint.

Stamp kelp and fish.

Make a mask using copy paper. Stamp Urchins place mask on top and stamp background urchins using second generation paler ink. Also use single urchin here and there.

Using a stamping platform stamp Mermaid and single urchin in her hand.

Paint over the top of her tail using pixie powders which have been mixed with water to form a paint. This makes her tail iridescent.

Ink up her tail and using the platform again, over stamp.

Colour her hair using stardust glitter pens.

Stamp the larger fish.

Add some colour detail and highlights to the images using stardust, white gel and paint pens. I also painted in a little ink under the urchins to create extra depth and added the fish to the top.

The artwork was mounted and glitter added as the final touch.

I hope you manage to get hold of the new stamps and stencils. You will really love them!

Don’t forget to check out the fabulous samples from the rest of the team for more inspiration and of course our friendly Facebook group

Till next time….
