Sunset stroll

Hi my friends its mid August and a gentle reminder that there is still loads of time to enter the Creative challenge at Lavinia stamps. The theme this month is ‘orange and lemon’ and oh my goodness there have been so many beauties entered so far! £40 of LS vouchers will be won by a lucky winner.

While the sun has made an appearance in the Uk today’s inspiration takes advantage of the the orange and lemon sunset tones.

I used the following stamps:

Bria rose

Lilly

Marine kelp

Seed heads

Birds

The steps:

Using spectrum noir ink pens, some with sparkle ink in peach, pink, orange, yellow and blue I dabbed lines of colour on to pre sprayed card and let the colours bleed into each other.

I adde a circle of white gel pen for part of the sun peeking through.

I trimmed the card and using make up brushes and distress oxide ink I extended the sky and added hills and foreground. I also smudged the sun with a little white chalk pastel and added a few dashes of white gel pen.

I masked off the hills with copy paper and began stamping the background foliage.

Then the foreground foliage was stamped.

I added a hill at the front using torn copy paper and orange ink. I also darkened around the edges using the purple.

I stamped the fairy and birds and added some gold highlights using my stardust gold pen. I used paint pens to enhance the colours of the flowers and I darkened the fairy using my stabilo all black pencil. Small shadows were created using my stabilo pastel pencils.

Finally I added touches of sparkle.

Here is a close up.

Don’t forget to check out the fabulous samples from the rest of the team for more inspiration and of course our friendly Facebook group

Good luck in the challenge!
