Landslide

Hello there. In today’s tutorial I’m delighted to be combining one of my favourite stamps with stencils from the new stencil range. I’m really enjoying the versatility of the stencils They certainly add another dimension to our Lavinia makes!

I used the following products:

Barric

Mini crown

Pebble stencil

Flourish stencil

The Steps:

I began by mopping up some left over ink spray from my craft Matt on to white card. To this I sprinkled a little pixie powder for extra interest and spritzed with water . (Brusho powders do the same job) When dry I trimmed away the edge.

I stamped Barric in black at the top. Using gold acrylic paint I stamped the crown and stencilled in some pebbles.

Using distress oxide ink and the flourish stencil I added detail to the top and right hand side.

I darkened the bird using my black Stabilo All pencil and began to darken the edges of the pebbles with a black pen. I also blended some yellow distress oxide ink above the bird. Using some water and a paint brush I removed lines of ink, blotting the area with kitchen roll. The idea was to create the impression of Sun rays.

I decided to add dimension to the pebbles by blending some acrylic ink from my paint pens on top of the gold. Paint pens can be blended using water and a paint brush if you work quickly. The silky surface of the gold paint also helped this process. I added dark colour to the sides of the pebbles facing away from the sun. I added green and yellow on top for a mossy look.

I decided to add more stencilling, this time in blue and for extra texture I added splatters in gold and iridescent blue ink.

I stamped the crown again using versa mark ink and heat embossed using purple/blue sparkle embossing powder. I felt that the crown looked better this way.

I carried on highlighting the pebbles using my stardust gold, and white pens.

After mounting the picture purple glitter added the finishing touch.

Hopefully Barric flew away before the pebbles totally collapsed. Luckily no fairies were injured!!

Till next time…

Lisa xx
