Suspense

Well hello again! It’s July 1st can’t believe it! So of course we have a new Creative challenge at Lavinia stamps. Congratulations to last month’s winner. Up for grabs this month is £40 of LS vouchers. The new theme is ‘ Midnight magic’ … A wonderful theme, time for those night scenes!

Today’s tutorial looks at simple masking techniques so that the beautiful stamps can be used creatively. After all they are just tools to aid our creativity.

Less materials you will be glad to know! I used the following stamps:

Crow set

Tree of hope

Tree of courage

Field grass

The video tutorial is here:

I hope you enjoy the video and have a go!

One thing I should mention I normally use multifarious card stock from Lavinia stamps. I thought I was using it. However I soon realised that the card was reacting to the water and began to pill during the painting. I think therefore that I lifted the wrong card. Oh well it worked out in the end with a little drying and blending . The right card makes so much difference! You should be fine if you stick to multifarious, water colour card or good quality mixed media card.

I hope you join the challenge and create your own night scene . I look forward to seeing them!

Till next time..

Lisa xx
