Hello everyone, I hope you are all well!

This week I decided to take my own creative adventure and create a painting from one medium- soft pastel. I love incorporating this into my mixed media pieces but I know if used on their own with the appropriate sub-straight they totally sing! Also I wanted to use the stamps creatively and incorporate my own hand drawing, just for a change.

I hope that you enjoy watching my creative process building up the darks using pan pastels and then adding the fine details and highlights using pastel pencils. Also I hope you can see the big advantage of using pastel card which has a slightly rough surface to aid the building of several layers. You can really achieve a colour rich painting and still have the benefit of your favourite stamps if you aren’t a confident drawer.

I hope you don’t mind this departure from my normal mixed media format. I feel that I might be pastel artist at heart and really wanted to see if this method would accommodate stamps.
