Staying with inks, I thought I would show how a beautiful silhouette can be created using the wonderful Radiant rain inks and embossing the stamped image using black embossing powder.I love experimenting with colour and seeing how randomly placed ink can form something magical!
Here’s the list!
- Sheena stamping card- Crafter’s companion
- Radiant rain inks from luminarte in red, pink and gold;
- Trees and stag stamp- ‘a lttle bit sketchy’-Sheena Douglass;
- Wow embossing glitter powder in ‘black glint’;
- Heat gun;
- Versa mark ink pad;
- Distress ink in black soot;
- Water mister
- Purple and black card for mounting.
As described in some of my previous posts to begin, simply dab some ink on the card and spritz with water. Allow the inks to bleed and merge, then dry with a heat gun. If you are not happy with the colour mix, repeat the process on the parts that need it. Make sure that the inks are completely dry before proceeding to the next stage.
Rub an Anti Static bag over the dried ink. Choose where you want to stamp your images and stamp with versa mark ink. (this is a clear sticky ink) Cover with imbossing powder and tap excess off. Gently brush away any stray black powder. Heat with heat gun until the images twinkle. I then edged the picture with some black soot distress ink to draw the eye into the scene.
Cut to size and mount on a complimentary colour on the front of a black card blank. The inks are full of mica and shimmer in the light. I absolutely love skies and trees so this is a wonderful way to create a scene either for a card or framed picture. No two will ever be the same.
