It’s a new month, how quickly they are slipping by! What better way to pass the time than to be creative and have A little fun by joining the Creative challenge at Lavinia stamps. The theme this month is ‘Dark but bright’! An interesting one!
Congratulations to last month’s winner . Up for grabs this month is £40 of LS vouchers
As you know I love to create underwater scenes and I’ve been so enjoying the recent new release stamps. This piece combines nearly all of them and is a bit of an extravaganza !

I used the following products:
The steps:
This inky background was a happy accident! I mopped up left over ink from my craft mat which had diluted pixie powder on it. Already it looked like a background!

I decided to further enhance the scene by sprinkling a little more… why not? It turned out pretty. I didn’t spray too much water.

Next I did some light stencilling down each side using distress oxide ink.

I then added the stamping. I wanted to create the impression that Astrid had a tail floating in the background. I created this by using Althea’s tail stamped twice and lightly shaded a tail shape. I also added part of Zelith to the background along with the fish and the sea flower foliage.

Next the fun part. I used my paint pens and colouring pencils to add colour to the stamped images. I also added bubbles and water lines using a white pen.

I stamped the kelp using gold acrylic paint and darkened the edges with ink. I also stamped the words across the top.

Finally the mounting and the sparkle!

I like how it turned out. It’s difficult to photograph the sparkle and shine.
