New Dawn

Hello my friends.

A lot has happened since my last post. Apologies for neglecting you all.

I made the move at long last. Travelled by land and ship down through Ireland and Spain with the dogs to my Mum’s home in Southern Portugal.

After a few weeks of searching and viewings we finally found a house that we liked and could afford just 25 minutes drive from my Mum in Spain on the Spanish /Portuguese border. It was quite a down size for us. It was a new build and a nice blank canvas to start afresh.

We have spent the last month arranging our possessions of which there were many! And trying to make the space a home. The community around us is fairly international. Many of our neighbours speak English so it’s not too scary!

I set up my new art space and although it is small it is a bright room full of possibilities. I actually love it and am surprised how much stuff it could take! I will link the video showing the space below.

Last week I finally found time to create between putting up new fencing and designing new kitchen.

I have been so struck by the change in light here and we are lucky to witness some amazing skies from our patio.

I hadn’t seen a lot of my art supplies for about 3 years when I packed them up for the original house move that fell through. It was exciting to have my distress oxide pads again so felt inspired to use them in this loose watercolour style abstract floral painting. I like the chalkiness of the ink which created a more subdued background.

You may find the video tutorial Here

I hope you like it and it’s so nice to be back!

I haven’t re opened my website shop yet selling my artwork as I still have to work out the postal service etc. my deliveries are worldwide and I need to know it’s reliable etc.?I hope to solve this part of the puzzle soon.

When considering everything that had to be done in the relocation and how far out of my comfort zone things were, I still can’t believe I’m here! My advice to you is to follow your dreams however impossible they may seem. Little by little things can happen in so many surprising ways!

I now can meet up with my Mum and bother who lives down the road in Spain whenever I want first time in 20 years!

Here’s my little art space:

Hopefully normal service may now resume . Thank you so much for your patience and support during my absence . I really appreciate you all!

Much love ,

Lisa xx

  1. How fabulous – all of it, your picture, your move, living in different light, and having your Mum and Brother just down the road. My brother has just moved into our family home in the village I live in. It is so nice to just wander down the road, see him and my sister in law and have a cup of tea. Enjoy visiting them frequently. Enjoy your new life 🙂
