Stamping DIY style!

What about making your own stamp with stamping foam? You can even emboss it to enhance the image.Using the TL deep dish stag die we are going to have a go.

It looks something like this:

This is what you will need:

You will also need a white A5 white card blank;watercolour card;pink , white ;blue and lilac cardstock; stamping foam and deep dish stag die from Tattered Lace.

To begin I cut stamping foam using the die and die cutting machine. I then heated the faom with a heat gun just for a few seconds and then quickly pushed in an embossing folder to transfer a snowflake impression.

I then inked up the stamp with a multi coloured ink pad and stamped on to water colour card.

Next I covered the image with drawing gum and then painted a simple background with pastel aqua tint inks.I rubbed off the gum.

I die cut the picture using a torn edge die and inked the sides with an alcohol marker.I highlighted the snowflakes with stickles. I cut another mat from lilac card with a pin dot edge and another mat with the inverted corner die. I matted these together.

After this I embossed some white card. I cut a blue mat and corner punched the corners. I edged the embossed card with ink and stuck white organza around the bottom and fixed this to the blue card. I stuck this mat to the card blank and then stuck down the main matted image with foam pads.

Finally I added pearls to the corners and a diamonte pearl embellishment to the centre of the bow.

It would be nice to experiment stamping the stag in lots of different colours for different effects! Wish I had just stuck to blues. Next time!
