The witches muse

Yes it’s that time of the month again! Hello October! It’s the beginning of the month and Time for a Creative challenge at Lavinia stamps. Congratulations to last month’s winner . Up for grabs this month is £40 of LS vouchers. The new theme is ‘ All Hallows’ eve’ … oooh spooky! That can mean only one thing…a moon lit scene full of magic!

Here are the products used:

Ivy stencil

The crow set

Mooch

Tree branch

The steps:

Ink sprayed on to white mixed media card. A couple of blues and a pink- any inks will do. My favourite because they are vivid are the dylusion inks from Ranger.

Created a white circle using gesso or white acrylic paint and chalk pastels.

Add detail- roughly a face shape using the pastels and a white gel pen.

Gradually darken around the edges with three tones of blue ink, the lightest being around the moon. I also added touches of purple ink with mica for extra texture and glow.

Next the landscaping using ink and torn copy paper.

Then the stamping. I tried to add blue paler branches in the background but they didn’t show in the end.Remember you can use parts of the branch stamp to build up the scene and stamp it at different angles. I darkened the silhouettes using my stabilo All black pencil.

I then decided to add a little stencilling and shadow beneath the cat.

I darkened the edges again, this time in black and added highlights, stars and doodles using my silver stardust pen and a white gel pen.

Finally some sparkle and blue paint pen!

The crows definitely want to know what the witches cat is up to!- I hope you like it.

Don’t forget to check out the fabulous samples from the rest of the team for more inspiration and of course our friendly Facebook group

Good luck in the challenge

Till next time…
