Tattered Lace skull

While love is still in the air I thought it would be a good time to share something from Tattered lace. This die reminds me of a tattoo. It was love at first sight when I saw it and I couldn’t resist adding a little glitter!

So what do we need? Here’s my suggestions:

  1. Black, white and a little red card;
  2. Tattered lace floral skull die;
  3. Heart embossing folder from Crafter’s Companion;
  4. Newspaper stamp by Sam Poole;
  5. Silver glitter card;
  6. Versafine ink-smokey grey
  7. Wink of Stella gliitter pen in red;
  8. black alcolhol marker;
  9. Sara Davies love and romance sentiments
  10. Sparkle gems.
  11. Glue and foam pad adhesive.

To start with emboss a white piece of card with the heart embossing folder using a die cutting machine.Next ink up the newspaper stamp but take a tissue and wipe around the edges to create a faded effect. Stamp on the card. An acrylic block is not necessary if the stamp has a foam backing. Cut the skull image using the die and a die cutting machine.Paper piece behind the die cut with silver glitter card behind the face and red card behind the flower to the right of the skull. I stuck the die to the card first and used a craft knife to carefully cut to the edge of the design. Then I mounted the skull on to the stamped image  using foam pads to create height. I then stamped the sentiments, top and bottom and edged the white card with a black alcohol marker.I randomly selected some of the embossed hearts and coloured them with red sparkle and added gems to the skull eyes and flower for added bling. This was then matted and layered on to a piece of glitter card and stuck to a black card blank.- Simples!
